Getting Ready for Mikiztli

This fall I will be rejoining the Mikiztli festival for Día de Muertos, which is an annual celebration of memory, community, and cultural heritage. On November 1st, I will share new work that speaks to remembrance, transformation, and the spaces between life and death. To take part in Mikiztli is to honor those who came before us while keeping their presence alive through art, story, and gathering. I look forward to once again adding my voice to this living tradition. In the meantime, I am gathering my work and refining my booth display, preparing to step into the festival with offerings that feel both renewed and true to my practice.

Before last year’s Mikiztli festival, I set up a full mock booth to refine the layout and flow of my display. This rehearsal space allowed me to balance large paintings with smaller works, arrange prints and trinkets in a way that invited browsing, and weave together the colors and motifs that define my brand. Testing the booth beforehand gave me a chance to see how each piece spoke to the others, ensuring the final setup at the festival carried the same rhythm of memory, myth, and celebration. Soon it will be time to go through this process again!

I hope to see you there!

As October rolled in, I was finally able to take some time away from my studies to work on my mock setup. I cannot wait to show you the final results of my work to up my presentation of my business and my work.

This is Just the beginning though. Since I tested out this setup, I have since purchased more items to boost my display. I think I’m most excited about how my booth will light up like an ofrenda once dusk sets in. Once it gets dark enough, I will have to turn on my shop lights.

Exhibiting in Nosotras Las Mujeres

I was honored to take part in the Nosotras Las Mujeres exhibition, a celebration of women artists whose work carries strength, story, and resilience. I shared two of my own pieces within this collective voice, standing among works that uplift both heritage and personal truth. For me, this exhibition was more than a showing. It was a recognition of the shared threads that bind us, and a reminder of the power we hold in creating, remembering, and re-imagining our worlds.

Exhibiting in
Roots | Raíces

This summer I joined Xico, Inc. for their ROOTS | RAÍCES exhibition, a gathering of artists exploring heritage, memory, and cultural resonance. My work stood among voices that honor tradition while imagining new futures, each piece carrying the weight of ancestry and the spark of reinvention. For me, this exhibition was both an offering and a dialogue. It was also a chance to ground my practice in community, while weaving my own myth and imagination into the shared tapestry of our roots.

My booth came alive under the glow of the light though! Idk, it felt like a return and a renewal, a space where familiar faces and new wanderers paused to step into the stories I’ve been weaving.

Back At First Friday

This year began with my return to First Friday in downtown Phoenix. It was a night that marked more than just coming back to the bustle of the art walk. I brought with me both new and older works, gathered together as a soft launch of my Mythic Waters collection. It was the first chance to share the series in person, alongside familiar favorites, and to reconnect with a community that has always fueled my growth. Under the lights, surrounded by music and conversation, the night felt like both a homecoming and the beginning of something new.

The First Unveiling of
Mythic Waters

To be fair... this collection is a blend of old favorites and new pieces. This particular night marked the soft launch of this collection, where stories in paint first touched the hands and eyes of those passing by, shimmering under the Phoenix night lights.
